For Elder Attorneys
When working with an aging client, do you sometimes notice that she isn’t managing her everyday life as well as she once did?
Perhaps he's showing gradual signs of memory loss or physical decline. Or she's suffered a recent illness or fall.
This can be especially worrisome if your client is a “solo senior,” aging alone without any family members to look after him or her. But having family in the picture isn’t a guarantee that all is well. Your client might have a daughter, for example, who tries to be involved in her mother’s life but who has a very full life of her own and is showing signs of being overwhelmed.
These are situations where Eldercare Leaders can help.
As Aging Life Care Professionals, we bring a practiced eye to evaluating an older adult’s situation and figuring out what’s going on. Depending on what’s needed, we can oversee any or all aspects of the older adult’s care. We help solve problems, find and access resources in the community, advocate on a client’s behalf, and communicate with doctors, hospitals, and family members.
We work with older clients and their families to develop a personalized care plan for both short- and long-term needs. Our goal is to be proactive, to help our clients before they are in a crisis situation when their options become more limited.
Our services are especially helpful for seniors who do not have family members nearby to oversee the details of day-to-day life, help with errands and appointments, and advocate to ensure they are getting the best care possible, whether in their own homes or at a care facility.
If your client is still living at home, but this is no longer advisable, we can assist in evaluating and choosing from the wide range of options, from assisted living to nursing homes to continuing care communities, to help ensure that the appropriate level of care is chosen.
Guiding seniors through the latter decades of their lives can require a team of professionals. The Elder Law Attorney and the Aging Life Care Professional working together are a natural partnership that will enhance the quality of an older adult’s life.
Let's work together.
